Maxwell Dalton, Graphic Designer
Hi, I’m Maxwell Dalton, a graphic designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Michigan State University, along with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. My work blends creativity with intentional design thinking, allowing me to create visuals that are both engaging and meaningful.
I approach graphic design as both a creative outlet and a problem solving tool. Growing up with dyslexia challenged the way I processed information, but it also shaped how I think visually. It pushed me to see design differently by focusing on clarity, composition, and storytelling through visuals rather than words. I didn’t fully discover my passion for design until high school, but once I did, it quickly became the foundation of how I express ideas.
My design process is rooted in three core stages: composition, color, and refinement. I begin with sketching and building strong line work to establish structure. From there, I develop color palettes that guide the emotional tone of the piece, which I consider one of the most important elements in design. Finally, I refine the details to add depth, texture, and polish to the final product.
I’m inspired by the everyday presence of design, from digital interfaces to environmental graphics, and I am always looking for ways to create work that feels fresh, original, and purposeful. Whether I am designing for a brand, a product, or an experience, my goal is to create visuals that stand out while effectively communicating their message.
Outside of design, I enjoy spending time outdoors, wake surfing, gardening, and being with friends, family, and my dogs. These experiences continue to influence my creativity and perspective.
